Class 3 were blessed with a lovely autumnal afternoon after a wet start to the day. Unfortunately the rain had made our usual route boggy in places so the children took part in a longer and hillier track today. The group warm up was led by the house team captains (Reece leading the warm up for the Tigers, Chloe D for the Panthers, Maisie for the Lions and Ernie for the Leopards) and, after a further warm up with Miss Gallagher so that everyone could familiarise themselves with the new route, we were ready and raring to go!
The sportsmanship and encouragement from the children was wonderful to see and hear. The Lothersdale spirit rang clear throughout the village, with children cheering and supporting one another. Most children applied everything they had learnt over the past half term and really kept a steady pace over the hillier course. Some children even had enough energy for a sprint finish! It was neck and neck against Sam and Eric and we really could have done with having a photo finish to clarify the winner, however this didn't impact on the overall team scores. We are so increadibly proud of everyone for trying their hardest, cheering on others and being kind, courteous and encouraging when needed. The house competition scores are as follows:
1st - Leopards
2nd - Lions
3rd - Tigers
4th - Panthers
Keep up the good running everyone. We are very proud!
