About our school
Lothersdale Primary School is a vibrant, nurturing school for children aged 4 to 11 years old. We have a close-knit community with around 108 pupils on roll and four classrooms: one class each for Reception, Year 1/2, Year 3/4, and Year 5/6. Located in the charming village of Lothersdale, we are proud to be a smaller-than-average school with a strong reputation for providing a supportive and high-quality education.
Our school has a rich history, dating back to its establishment in 1871. While we cherish the traditional character of our building, we have also embraced modern advancements to enhance our learning environment. Recent upgrades include interactive whiteboards in every classroom, a dedicated ICT suite equipped with computers and tablets, and a well-stocked library to encourage a love of reading.
The outdoor space at Lothersdale Primary School is another key feature of our school site. We have a beautiful school woodland where children can explore nature and engage in hands-on learning. The nearby extensive playing fields, adventure playground, and outdoor classroom provide ample opportunities for physical activity and outdoor education.
In addition to our strong academic focus, we offer a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports clubs, music lessons, and creative arts projects. Our before and after school ‘Legends’ facility ensures that we support working parents and provide a safe, stimulating environment for our pupils throughout the day.
At Lothersdale Primary School, we are committed to fostering a love of learning in every child, preparing them for future success both in and out of the classroom.
